There are also other topics that cross across all of the grade levels. For example, in pitch detection, weâÂre investigating the concept of tone color and the use of that for melody. We are also creating melodies and working on major and minor scales. To facilitate this approach we are putting a lot of focus on audio examples in the online lessons. Students also get downloadable accompaniment (and/or) examples for each lesson. The music theory books are also useful for a student to expand on concepts and explore more. However, we believe one of the best ways of learning music is through hands on play. We want to ensure students are able to develop a repertoire with the online lessons and pages are included within to reinforce concepts. Students also download the mp3 in each lesson for guidance on how to use material and potentially expand on concepts.
The Grade 5 online music lessons at My Music Theory are designed to be accessible by students who have never studied music theory before. If you are around grade 3/4 on your instrument, you don't necessarily need to work through the earlier grades, you can just jump right in at Lesson 1, Grade 5.
It's almost impossible to take a self-schooled music theory class without finding yourself filling in the gaps, then reverting to the rules of alchemy, for as soon as the student is done adhering to the laws and theorems of music theory, the student must then create a melody or instrumental piece to demonstrate mastery. d2c66b5586
