Download Oracle 10g Client For Windows Xp 11 [NEW]

Instant Client ODBC requires the Oracle Instant Client Basic or Basic Light package (depending on your locale requirements) also be installed. Download the desired package from OTN for your operating system and follow the installation instructions on the download page. For example, unzip the package to C:\\instantclient_19_3 on Windows, unzip to /opt/oracle/instantclient_19_3 on Linux or other platforms, or use yum to install the RPM packages on Linux.
I tried heelclick as the service name first. Since it is such a popular database utility, I had to assume the obvious.\\\\n\\\\nSo now I've gone with your second suggestion and downloaded the Oracle ODBC driver. To keep things difficult, they didn't include an installation utility, and to make it more confusing, item 1 of part 4 of the installation instructions says it assumes Oracle Universal Installer has already been installed on my system. I don't know what that is, but I'm pretty sure it isn't already installed on my system. \\\\n\\\\nDo I need Oracle Database 10g Client Release 2 (10.2.0.1.0). I'm leaving work right now and I started the download (500 megs!). Tomorrow I'll give it a try, but if I'm heading in the wrong direction please let me know.\\\\n\\\\nThanks.\\\",\\\"author\\\":{\\\"username\\\":\\\"former.member\\\",\\\"displayName\\\":\\\"Former Member\\\",\\\"groupIcons\\\":[],\\\"suspended\\\":true,\\\"isCurrentUser\\\":false},\\\"parentAuthor\\\":{\\\"username\\\":\\\"efstratios.karaivazoglou\\\",\\\"displayName\\\":\\\"Efstratios Karaivazoglou\\\",\\\"groupIcons\\\":[{\\\"name\\\":\\\"employee\\\",\\\"title\\\":\\\"This user is an SAP Employee\\\",\\\"priority\\\":21}],\\\"suspended\\\":false,\\\"isCurrentUser\\\":false},\\\"id\\\":7209763,\\\"creationDate\\\":1270769544000,\\\"activeRevisionId\\\":8463941,\\\"lastActivity\\\":1270771087000,\\\"parentId\\\":7189687,\\\"originalParentId\\\":7189703,\\\"likeCount\\\":0,\\\"visibility\\\":\\\"full\\\",\\\"depth\\\":0,\\\"attachments\\\":[],\\\"canVoteUpOrCancel\\\":false,\\\"relations\\\":{\\\"canReport\\\":false,\\\"visibility\\\":\\\"full\\\",\\\"canEdit\\\":false,\\\"canUseDelete\\\":false,\\\"isLiked\\\":false,\\\"type\\\":\\\"comment\\\",\\\"canVoteUpOrCancel\\\":false,\\\"canConvertToAnswer\\\":false,\\\"canBeModerated\\\":false,\\\"canViewRevisions\\\":false,\\\"showInReply\\\":false,\\\"reported\\\":false,\\\"canCancelReport\\\":false,\\\"canDelete\\\":false,\\\"canVoteDownOrCancel\\\":false,\\\"canComment\\\":false,\\\"canViewReports\\\":false,\\\"isCurrentUserAuthor\\\":false},\\\"liked\\\":false,\\\"moderatorComment\\\":false}]}}\"); const simplifiedQuestionView = JSON.parse(\"true\"); (function() { window.pageContext = mergeDeep(pageContext, { question: { id: 7189703, plug: \"can't-connect-to-oracle-with-crystal-reports-xi\", votes: 0, questionTitle: \"Can\\'t connect to Oracle with Crystal Reports XI\", isClosed: false, isLocked: false, isRedirected: false, redirectedFromTitle: \"\", redirectedFromId: \"\", closedStatusData: JSON.parse(\"{}\"), userVoted: false, relations: JSON.parse(\"{\\\"canClose\\\":false,\\\"canUnredirect\\\":false,\\\"canReport\\\":false,\\\"visibility\\\":\\\"full\\\",\\\"canEdit\\\":false,\\\"canUseDelete\\\":false,\\\"canReopen\\\":false,\\\"type\\\":\\\"question\\\",\\\"canVoteUpOrCancel\\\":false,\\\"canViewRevisions\\\":true,\\\"canUnlock\\\":false,\\\"reported\\\":false,\\\"canVoteDownOrCancel\\\":false,\\\"canLock\\\":false,\\\"canCancelReport\\\":false,\\\"canComment\\\":true,\\\"isCurrentUserAuthor\\\":false,\\\"canViewReports\\\":false}\"), isQuestionAccepted: false }, childToViewInfo: { id: \"\" }, comments: JSON.parse(\"{\\\"7189687\\\":{\\\"rootParentId\\\":7189687,\\\"commentsCount\\\":1,\\\"comments\\\":[{\\\"body\\\":\\\"I tried heelclick as the service name first. I have Oracle (OraDB10g) running on a server and I've been asked to make some Crystal Reports based on it. So I tried creating a new connection. The Ole DB (ADO) option had a provider that looked like it would work called \"Microsoft OLE DB Provider for Oracle\". However, it prompts me for a Service Name in addition to user and password, and I have no idea what to give it for service name. I think I have all the info I need, I just don't know how to present it. The server that is running Oracle is HCORACLE, and using something called \"Oracle Net Manager\" on that server I can see the following: 153554b96e
